Podcast #46: When Emotions Turn into Physical Problems: The Link Between Weight Gain and Not Loving Yourself
Well we took a little break from podcasting. Almost two months -- yikes!! And for that, we are truly sorry, guys. But we do have a good excuse at least!
Our little Sarah was having a hip replacement surgery!
And she's finally back to her old self. And more importantly, WE'RE back to podcasting.
We thought we'd kick off 2019 with a good ol' self-love episode because we know how much you mindful meatless meatheads dig 'em. And of course, so do I (Sam.) But we kept it short and sweet and somehow mentioned salt and vinegar chips A LOT.
This podcast was supposed to revolve around the link between not loving ourselves and how that results in unwanted weight gain. But it kinda just morphed into us discussing the biggest barriers to loving ourselves, ways to re-frame our worries and some practical steps we can all take to accept and love our bodies. And I guess it's pretty relevant to the topic in a "same shit, different pile" kinda way.
I also share one of my fave Byron Katie quotes:
And we finish her off (the podcast, not Byron Katie) with the ways that I personally try to turn my anxiety into confidence when faced with a nerve-wracking situation.
And if anyone is wondering about that tea I mention which tastes like cinnamon hearts and is a dieter's best friend, it's called "Bengal Spice" by Celestial Seasonings. And you're welcome.
Alright, without further ado, here is the episode. Hope you like it and hope you're as happy to have us back as we are!
