Podcast #1: Jealousy & Unhealthy Comparisons to Others
Welcome to the very first Jacked on the Beanstalk Podcast Episode! How exciting, eh?!
It’s kind of a long and boring one perhaps. But that’s only because I wanted to kick it off properly with an intro and the backstory as to why I’m (Sam Shorkey) launching into the podcast world.
Long story short, in an attempt to better serve not only my vegan coaching clients, but also myself and anyone else who wants to listen to my non-professional, uncertified vegan hippie meathead ramblings, I decided to create a vegan podcast with a strong emphasis on personal development AND co-host it with none other than my big sister Sarah who also works at Jacked on the Beanstalk.
Definitely some insightful and hopefully useful tips included on this introductory episode too though. And of course, plenty of real talk and some of my personal experiences with jealousy, envy and the unhealthy comparing of ourselves to others.
Eventually, we’d also love to include a “question and answer” segment during each episode where we will gladly answer any and all questions that our listeners may have. So if you do like the podcast, feel free to send your question to sam@jackedonthebeanstalk.com and we will answer it on a future episode.
And with that, here is our very first episode of Jacked on the Beanstalk: The Podcast!

hahaha you sisters rock!!! I think I had to write down everything that went thru my mind while listening to this podcast :))))) of course to express my feelings about your great job that is… :)) First of all: for a person that doesn’t even recognize the real Canadian accent I can only say that you both sound really nice :) and second you make hell of a team together and I luvvv the Schorkey jokes and honesty ! :) I enjoyed this episode and you can be sure that Im definitely gonna add this to my to-hear list!
Listened to all of it… that is coming from someone who has A.D.D!! Almost 30 minutes is a long time to keep still:) Well done sisters Shorkey. Everything was great even beyond the topic. The intro with the great radio voice guy, the commentary, and the appropriate music in all the right places. This must have taken a long time to put together. Thank you, and yes bring them on.
Love this feedback!! Thank you soooo much Hayat!! As always. You know how much I love and appreciate hearing from you. Hope you’re in a good place and don’t be a stranger, girl xo
How am I only noticing this comment now?! Awww thanks so much, Carmi!! Keep meaning to email you! I absolutely LOVE my Instant Pot. Greatest kitchen appliance of all time. And just received my vegan Instant Pot cookbook yesterday. Definitely wouldn’t have bought it if it weren’t for your review and feedback so thank YOU! Hope all is well in your world xo
