Podcast #71: Boredom Eating
We all have our reasons for eating when we know we probably shouldn’t be. Or better yet, eating when we’re not hungry.
There are many reasons for this mindless kind of eating whether it’s because we’re bored AF, feeling sad, stressed out, lonely – you name it.
As a vegan coach, it’s probably one of the biggest challenges my clients face at one point or another. Hell, even I’m guilty of it more often than I’d like to admit.
What’s important to note, however, is that whatever our reason is for eating when we probably could do without it, we must acknowledge that we are simply seeking FULFILLMENT. And let’s be honest – a handful of chips, spoonful of peanut butter or mouth full of chocolate can be oh-so fulfilling. ESPECIALLY amidst a worldwide pandemic!
And I’m not saying that we shouldn’t be finding ways to seek fulfillment when everything around us feels so damn scary and uncertain! But we do need to have more awareness when it comes to food and the ways we try to fulfill our unmet needs.
